ISTM Pharmacist Professional Group Awards

ISTM is pleased to offer two awards recognizing pharmacists’ contributions to travel medicine.

The Excellence and Achievement in Travel Health Pharmacy is made based on significant body of work and long-term contribution to the field

The Outstanding New Travel Health Pharmacist Award is given to a new pharmacist practitioner who has made a significant contribution to the field.

Nominations for both awards are currently open. Apply by 15 December 2024. Read below for details and instructions.

Award Process

One Excellence and Achievement in Travel Health Pharmacy Award and one Outstanding New Travel Health Pharmacist Award will be presented at each CISTM (every two years).

Each award includes a certificate of recognition and complimentary registration to that CISTM.

The criteria are informed by the ISTM Professional Development CTH® renewal program, with points allocated for activities such as teaching, publication, clinical involvement, volunteer work, holding CTH®, and more.

Awards are scored using a rubric, with the Excellence and Achievement in Travel Health Pharmacy Award requiring a minimum score of 17 out of 23, and the Outstanding New Travel Health Pharmacist Award requiring at least 12 out of 23.

Awards are based on the review of nomination materials and scoring by an ad-hoc committee of three members of the PPG Steering Council, excluding any nominees. If a committee member has a conflict of interest, a substitute will be chosen from the PPG. The nominees with the highest average rubric scores will receive the respective awards.

Award recipients will be ineligible for re-nomination during the following two ISTM conferences and cannot apply for both awards simultaneously.
